This post is going to be pretty brief, but I wanted to give you guys a quick update on what is going on with us...
Griffin is continuing to amaze us with his vocabulary and he comes up with some of the funniest things. For example, we were outside the other day and he was about to take a dog treat from our neighbor's dog when I told him that he "was not to take Abby's special treat from her, that it belonged to her." And then, just as any potty-training toddler might say, he replied, "Abby pooped in the potty?" Because we all know that when you poop in the potty you get special treats :)
As for potty training... except for the rare accident, Griffin is doing EXCELLENT using the potty. He now goes to school in big boy underpants and he can climb up on the potty all by himself!! What a stud!
Emerson turned 4 months old on Wednesday and is officially sleeping through the night (knock on wood). It's been three nights in a row now, and I feel like a new person! What was my trick? Well, it turns out that if I don't jump up out of bed the second that she starts crying, she puts herself back to sleep within about 5 minutes. We will be going to the doctor for his 4 month check up on Tuesday, so I will keep you posted on her stats. Dr. Evans will also be re-checking her ears, because Emerson had her first ear infection (and consequently her first round of antibiotics) last week. But, she seems to be doing much better, so hopefully things are all clear.
Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure. I promise to have more for you next time :)

She is thisclose to rolling over...

What a beauty!

Happy New Year!!!
Wow! What a year! Blake and I have talked a lot lately about how incredibly blessed we have been this year and we can only imagine what 2012 has in store for our little family.
A quick update on what has been happening around the Greene house lately:
We took our annual Tour De Southeast for Christmas, stopping first in Birmingham to spend Christmas Eve with the Greenes and then on to Macon for Christmas Day festivities. A great time was had by all and Santa was very good to us this year. He even brought Griffin exactly what he asked for this year: a BLUE bike!!
Our sweet, beautiful, baby girl turned 3 months old on Christmas day and she is getting so big! We go for our check up at the end of January, so I will be sure to keep you posted on stats, but I am sure that we are on the larger side of average in weight and length. She is absolutely beautiful and getting even prettier by the day. I know that I have mentioned this before, but she is a much higher maintenance baby than Griffin was, but she has still brought so much joy to our little family and we feel more complete with this little angel. Emerson is holding her head up really well and has even spent a little time in the exersaucer already. She will be sitting up before we know it. I remember how much I loved watching Griffin become more mobile - even if it is a lot more work for a while! And I can't wait to see Em on the go!
Griffin began potty training once we returned from our Christmas journeying and is doing pretty well. Although I won't say that he is completely trained until he is telling us when he needs to go, he is staying dry and clean for the most part. He is such a little stud and knows full well that he gets special treats for going to the potty. He has also been very busy tearing up the cul de sac on his new blue bike and playing with his tool set from GG and Pop. He makes us laugh every single day and is just so much fun!
Here are some pictures to wrap up 2011... Can't wait to see what these little ones have in store for us this year!
Emerson at 3 months:

We probably have 1000 pictures with thumbs up!

Boxer briefs like daddy! And the paper towel roll on his arm is his blower that he uses to clean up the house for me :)

Thanks to Mops for Clifford!

Burning up the road!!

Dad teaching G how to ride on Christmas morning. Clearly, Griffin is very interested.

Christmas morning in Macon. This pretty much sums up Griffin's reaction to his new bike. Maybe he just wasn't fully awake yet.

If you ever thought Griffin and Emerson favored eachother, take a look at this picture!

Caroline and sleepy Em

Papa with the girls

Drills from GG and Pop were a hit!!

Decorating cookies at home. The black eye was due to a nasty spill that he took on the stairs. It. Was. Awful.

Happy New Year everyone!! May 2012 be even more full of life and love than you could hope!

Countdown to Christmas!
We have been having a lot of fun lately getting ready for Christmas! Griffin has watched Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas every day and Blake and I can almost sing all of the songs in the movie. We have also seen Santa twice this past week!
On Thursday night Santa rode through the neighborhood on a decked out golf cart. Blake was drooling over all of the strobes and lights and Griffin was in awe as well. He was not too excited to take a picture with Santa, but we snapped a quick one. His face is priceless- complete with spaghetti sauce (we had to pull him away from his dinner so that we didn't miss Santa in the street).

The next Santa sighting was at Bennett and Gray's birthday party. Ashley and Ryan hosted a Breakfast with Santa and so we were able to spend a little more time with the big guy. And this time, Griffin wasn't so scared. In fact, he marched right up to him and told him that he wants a blue bike for Christmas. Even Emerson cooperated for a picture.

Too much fun and Two Months Old
We have a lot to be thankful for this year. A sweet, new baby girl and a little boy who just brings so much joy into our home.
Emerson turned two months old last Friday and is waking up from her newborn slumber :) She is still slightly more fussy than we would like at times, but she definitely is starting to grow out of that too. She is smiling at us more and more and making some "ooohhs" and ""gaaahhhs" noises too. I can't wait to hear her little voice talking to us and watch her grow up even more!
Griffin is just a mess. He has had us laughing a lot lately. When we told Griffin that Christmas is coming soon and that it is Jesus' birthday, he promptly sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus and then yelled at the top of his lungs "blow it out Jesus" (We are pretty sure that he thinks the Christmas tree is one giant candle.) He loves to play outside so it is a good thing that it has been so warm this month.
Parenting a toddler and a newborn is a lot of work, but Blake and I manage to keep it together for the most part. We are both exhausted, but this won't last forever, right? Plus, it is totally worth it!
