If you read the 5 month post then you saw that Griffin likes to "make vibrations with his lips"

Playing with daddy
I don't think that the video of Griffin's first meal is going to work. I think that it is just too long.
But, here is another video for you... equally as cute with less rice cereal :)

YUM!!!
Well, we did it. We bit the bullet and gave Griffin his very first taste of rice cereal this morning. I am trying to post the video because it is so stinkin' cute. But, for some reason it is not wanting to load. So, until I can get that to post, here are some still shots.
Getting started...

Making a mess...

It's ok, we'll master the spoon eventually, right Griffin?

I think Griffin liked Daddy's technique a little better. It was probably the airplane noises.

Are we done already?

LOVE this boy!

5 months old!
Happy Valentines Day!!!

I can't believe that our baby is 5 months old. He is just precious and is even more fun than ever. Here is a list of a few things that he is up to these days...
He loves to play in his exersaucer
He loves to kick things that are in reach of his feet
He gets kinda bashful when you are smiling and talking to him and will hide his face a little bit
He laughs like crazy at his daddy when he sings and plays around with him
He reaches for things and puts them in his mouth
He rolls over when he wants to (both ways)
He likes to make vibrations on his lips and on his pacifier
He loves to throw toys that you give him on the floor (how do they learn that so fast?)
He LOVES to bounce and jump on your lap
When you arrive in his room and he catches the first sight of you over his crib he busts out into a big ole smile
He is just the best baby in the whole wide world.

Visit with Bets and Papa...
Griffin and I made a trip down to Macon this week for a visit with the Great Grandparents and Bets and Papa.
Here are some pictures of our visit with mom and dad:
Trying to get Griffin to smile for a picture on dad's phone.

Griffin is making a lot of noise these days. Mom was playing with his lips and Griffin loved it!

Griffin has just started giving open mouth kisses. Mom became one of the first victims and she loved it!

So much fun with Bets and Papa!

4th Annual President's Day Extravaganza...
WOW! What a weekend! It all started with Snow Storm 2010 which dumped about 3-4 good inches of snow on our little town of Dacula. I really wasn't even sure if everyone was going to make it up. But, our friends are the best in the world and braved the snow and slick roads to get here.
After all was said and done we had 13 house guests and it was awesome! We cooked, played games, laughed, watched the Opening Ceremonies, provided commentary for said ceremonies, and just had a great time. Griffin was a star and made us SO proud. He played, laughed, napped well, and slept through the night all weekend long!! What a champ!
So, without further ado, here are some pictures from the big event:
Bubba traveled the farthest (from Memphis) to come visit. Here is a picture of Griffin and Bubba bonding on Friday morning.

We had to throw together some spaghetti on Friday night when it became apparent that the local pizza places would not be delivering in the snow...

This is a shot of the winter wonderland that our friends had to come through to get up to Dacula.

It was Griffin's first snow!

Group shot with the snowman in our front yard.

3/4 of the roomies

It's hard to tell, but Millie was pumped about the snow. She ran loops in the back yard like she was back in NC.

Griffin got lots of love this weekend:

There were games upstairs...

And in the basement...

And then there were three... Bubba, Tommy and Eric were the remaining few on Sunday afternoon.

We had a BLAST and are so thankful for such wonderful friends. Who knows if there will be a 5th Annual Prez Day Extravaganza, but we were happy to spend atleast one more weekend with everyone.

Griffin has been really cute lately, but he is a little camera-shy, so I can never get the greatest shot of his sweet little dimples. Whenever I get the camera out he gets so distracted by it that he forgets to pose for me so he ends up giving me these deer in headlights looks...

GG and Pop came to visit over the past few days. It was so nice to have them here and they even babysat for us on Monday so that Blake and I could go on a date- ahhhh!!! It was so nice!
Here is GG playing with Griffin. He loved being bounced on the bed. He is starting to laugh more and more- it's so cute! His smiles are pretty easy to get, but you have to be pretty special to get a big ole laugh!

Griffin is not so sure about playing airplane. I am sure that sooner than later he is gonna love it- IF we can still hold him over our heads (what a chunk!)

Great shot with the grandparents:

Here he is so fresh and so clean just after a bath. I love this little frog towel!

Here's a dimple shot!

He has also started playing a little peek-a-boo. I don't think he really knows what he is doing just yet, but were getting there.

Also- if you have ever tried to leave a comment before and weren't able to- try again. I have changed some settings so hopefully it will let you. I'd love to know when people are sneaking a peek at our blog!
We are sure to have some really fun pictures next week b/c our big President's Day weekend is coming up. We have lots of friends coming in town this weekend and I will be passing Griffin around to get some love from everybody. That means lots of photo ops!!
So, stay warm and we'll see you next time!
