One Year Stats...

OK, it seems our little guy is starting to even out on the growth chart. As you may know, he was a pretty chunky baby, but it turns out that he is slightly more average these days.
Today we had our 12 month appointment. Here are the stats:
Weight: 22 lbs. 3.2 oz. (40th%)
Height: 29 and 3/4 inches (48th%)

He also had 3 shots today and took them like a man. Well, not really, but he didn't cry for long. What a tough little guy!!

Birthday Boy

We had quite a weekend! Griffin turned one on Sunday and we had bunches of family and friends over to celebrate on Saturday afternoon. Griffin was in a great mood all day despite missing his afternoon nap. He made me so proud!
The party was a football theme and although the Dawgs disappointed us again, the party was a win! (sorry, that was cheesy)
When everyone sang Happy Birthday he just looked around like he had heard it a hundred times before. And he gobbled up an entire cupcake!
We had a lot of fun and Griffin is loving all of his presents! Thanks to everyone that could make it to the party and if you have any pictures, I would love to have them! Please email them to Blake or myself when you get a chance.
For others, here are some pics from the party and a few others.
This is the precious birthday outfit that GG and Aunt Coco made for Griffin. It has "GREENE" across the top of the back... so cute!!

A football shaped cake, of course. And green grass cupcakes with rice krispie footballs on top.

A field themed tablecloth with pictures of Griffin from his first year of life. All the way through Labor Day!

Here he is eating his cupcake. He even found some pieces in the pocket of his bib. He polished off the whole thing in about a minute flat.

Bets and Papa got Griffin a bean bag for his birthday and he loves it! He plays and pounces on it and today he watched a little Curious George in it.

Griffin with both of his great grandfathers.

Family pictures on the front step with the birthday boy!

Aunt Coco and Uncle Daniel spent the night after the party and we took the boys to the park. Clayton is getting SO big! It's been nice to be able to see what Griffin will be doing next. He's so cute and practically has the vocab of a 5 year old- so smart!

Do these two look like trouble, or what?

Dads and slides.

They look like they are planning some scheme here.

Bennett and Gray stopped by before the party and brought Griffin a sweet musical instrument set. Here's Bennett and Griffin with some party hats on :)

I can't believe that our little boy is one. This has been the most amazing year. He is so smart and so much fun. I can only imagine where we'll go from here. I love this kid and am so thankful for the little guy. His smile is absolutely priceless.

PS- I want to give a special thank you to my mom and grandmother for helping me put together an amazing party. I couldn't have done it without you two! Thanks a ton!

Labor Day at the Lake!

This weekend we headed down to Ryan's lake house for a little fun in the sun. It was Griffin's first trip to Lake Sinclair and my first trip there in probably 15 years. We had a great time and have lots of pictures to share.

Here's Griffin in his Bass Pro life jacket. I am pretty sure that if we had let him that he would have stepped directly off of the dock. So, our better judgment led us to suit him up in this little get-up. It even came with a convenient handle. He could enjoy his freedom while we enjoyed some peace of mind.

He is loving his hat these days. In fact, it doesn't even have to be his... and it doesn't even have to be a hat (as you will see below).

Cousin Carson caught lots of fish with the men off of the dock. The plan was to catch a big catfish with the tiny brim that were caught... but apparently the monster catfish weren't biting :)

This was Bennett's weekend in a nutshell. He LOVED the worms. By Saturday afternoon, the worms were left with approximately zero dirt and food.

Sydney looked adorable as usual in her pink life jacket. She was also very cute with the babies in the house.

Exhibit A: Look at these lovely ladies
PS- Look at how big is Gray getting!!

In addition to hats, Griffin has a shoe obsession too. He was walking around all weekend trying to get his little feet caught on flip flops and in shoes. Here he is in Eric's cowboy boots. His legs weren't quite as long as the boots so he needed a little assistance.

Cousins on Game Day... GO DAWGS!!!

We also took the little guy out on the boat for the first time. He loved it at first...

But was quickly rocked to sleep. Good thing the life jacket had a pillow attached.

As I mentioned before, G is loving hats... or anything that we can wear as a hat. Here he is laughing at daddy with a pizza box on his head.

And here it is on his head.

That's all folks. I hope that you also had a great Labor Day! Hope to see you all soon!
