Labor Day at the Lake

I forgot to take my camera to the lake for Labor Day, but Bets saved the day and sent these pics to us. Thanks Bets!!

We had a mini-celebration for Griffin on Sunday night. The kids ate ice cream sundaes at about 8:00 and G opened his presents...yeah, I said 8 p.m.

Griffin is not so sure about the candle on his ice cream, but he LOVED it when we sang Happy Birthday and it was (finally) for him!!

That grin is priceless.

Griffin loved jumping off of the dock to Blake. He didn't really care to swim very much, but he loved the 3 foot jump down to his daddy and did it about 100 times!

Although it was a disappointing game day for the Dawgs, we all got decked out anyways.

Look at these two Georgia cuties!!!

Griffin holding his first cricket on the dock. After this picture he set it free into the lake... haha!!

All of the cousins still in their pajamas

A huge thanks to Ryan for once again hooking us up with a great little vacay spot for the family. I love seeing all of the cousins together and I know that we are making some pretty great memories for these kiddos. Thank you!!!!

PS- I promise to do a better job of taking pics of adults too... as long as I can remember my camera :)

1 Month to go!!!

Well, actually it will be one month to go on Friday, but we are counting down the days until Emerson makes her appearance! Griffin has been kissing and hugging my belly and talking about "baby sister" and I am confident that he will make an excellent big brother. Just 4.5 weeks to go!!

Griffin starts school a week from today and I am so excited for him. He has been attending a "practice/play-school" a few times this summer and doing really well with being away from me and dad. After the first visit he came home with a note that said that he is "working on not hitting or grabbing his friends." So, after repeating after me about a hundred times that we do not hit our friends, I think that he is finally getting it (for now). He has also been going to the church nursery dry-eyed too, so I have pretty high hopes for next week!

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks. We have been feeling very blessed lately with great friends at a couple of baby showers for Emerson. One took place in Birmingham and one right here in Dacula. Other than that we have been enjoying some pretty low-key weekends here at home. And it has been really nice to stay put for a while. Enjoy the pics!

Griffin and Daddy play in the backyard:

This will probably be one of our last trips to the pool this season. Hopefully the video that I uploaded below will work for you. It showcases Griffin's awesome swimming skills.

Here are some of the pictures from a shower hosted by our wonderful cul-de-sac neighbors. It was so nice and I felt so loved to see some Playgroup moms, neighbors and family come to help us celebrate!

Aunt Coco got us matching big bro/little sis shirts! So cute!

Some of the attendees... thanks ladies!!

Me and mom... I am as big as a house!

My grandmothers both made the trip up from Macon.

Here are some shots from Birmingham.

Natalie and her sweet niece!

Aunt Janet whipped up this carriage creation. Isn't it cute?

Courtney and baby Caroline.

Family friends helped us celebrate our upcoming arrival!

Sound machine which has already come in handy...

The beautiful table full of yummy bruch goodness.

Let me know if you can view the video below. I don't know exactly what I am doing on this new computer just yet (hence the out of order pics above). Hope everyone is doing well!

Three months to go!!

As of today we have exactly 3 months until our due date for baby girl Greene. I can hardly believe that the time has flown so quickly. AND... Griffin is asleep in his big boy bed for the very first time as I type this!! Blake put him to bed tonight and when they were done reading books he asked him if he wanted to sleep in his big boy bed or the little bed and Griffin said his big boy bed!!! I think maybe the super cute Construction sheets with diggers, tractors and bulldozers might have lured him, but whatever works, right? I guess it remains to be seen if he stays there all night, but it's looking good so far!

How cute is this precious baby boy?

Before I go any further, I must mention that our little baby niece Caroline was born on May 23. She is just precious and the Cox family is as happy as can be! We love you!!

Clayton and Griffin enjoying some watermelon at GG and Pop's house.

This past week we spent a few days at the beach with the Griffin clan. Our trip was cut short by some unfortunate events, but while we were there we had a blast. Here are a few pics from our time in St. George.

G and Daddy on the beach. I couldn't believe how well he did with his ear plugs. I was totally expecting a huge battle, but he was awesome! I hope our next child is as laid back as Griffin.

Blake shows us his skillz on the skim board.

Carson's turn.

And of course, Griffin's turn.

Carson and Griffin go for a dip in a little tide pool.

Yikes... belly shot on the beach.

Here's a shot of the cousins eating suckers that Bets passed out. Good thing they lost interest in the giant candies shortly after this pic.

Love this kid.

One more shot of the kiddos. Can you believe how huge Carson and Sydney look??

This picture was taken right after I told Carson what an awesome guy he was being with all of the little kids around.

When we got back from the beach, Blake took one more day off and spent it with Griffin and I. We took the little guy to a water park in Gainesville and hit the outlets before coming home.

Griffin seriously loves the water. We have to watch him like a hawk or he would be on the bottom in no time.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Griffin is growing up so fast and baby sister will be here in no time!

Hot fun in the Summertime!

So far we have kicked off our summer with a lot of fun outside! Griffin is CRAZY about mowing grass (like Daddy, of course) and going to the pool so we have been doing a lot of that!

Here are some shots of him at the pool with Bets.
(A HUGE thanks to Bets for coming to visit while Blake and I went to a party in Chattanooga).

He has just recently started laying on his belly in the bath tub, too. When he does it in the pool he will often count the tiles. Lately he has been skipping 5 and 6 and his 7 kinda sounds like "neven", but you could say that we are slightly proud that he already knows how to count to 10!

Griffin loves to jump from the side of the pool... I have got to get him some type of floating device. He clearly has no idea that he would sink like a rock if we weren't there to catch him.

As I mentioned before, G loves to mow grass. Whether it is in the backpack carrier on Blake's back or pushing this mower around the yard, the kid loves it!

He also is becoming quite a little helper watering the plants around the house. The plants under our deck get the most love because that is where the hose is connected. He has quite an aim already!

He also loves the swing! Blake was pushing him crooked today and spinning him around... he was howling laughing!! I was getting nauseated just watching :)

Ear muffs are a necessity while mowing grass.

This picture is especially for Papa Cork. Griffin eating his very first MoonPie.

Zebra gets to read a few books with G and Daddy at bedtime.

Like father like son.

That's all for now! Hope all are well!
