Mom, Park, Patio
Griffin is all tuckered out after a very busy week!

On Monday, Mom came to visit and we had a blast! She was just here for a couple of days, but we made the most of it and even learned a thing or two. Griffin now knows "uh-oh" thanks to mom :) As in, "uh-oh" I threw my banana on the floor, "uh-oh" I "dropped" my paci... you get the picture. I'll be honest, it can be slightly annoying, but he's so stinkin' cute I don't even care!

Wednesday afternoon we took a little trip over to the park to let Millie take her monthly swim. Griffin laughed when he saw Millie jump in the water to chase the ball.

And of course, the week would not be complete without an entire day devoted to a house project. This time it was the patio under the deck. We (and by we I mean mostly Blake) are so close to being finished. All there is left to do is landscape the area surrounding the patio. Just imagine hostas planted in the bed to the back of the patio and some hanging ferns and maybe a potted flower or two.

Blake has done a fabulous job and we are so proud of him! What do you think??

Ten Months!!
Griffin turned 10 months old on Monday and if you have been following the blog, you know that we have had some big accomplishments over the past week or so. Here's what Griffin is up to these days:
WALKING!! He hasn't stood up on his own and taken off just yet, but if you sit him on your lap and help him get his balance, he'll take several steps by himself. In fact, he walked from our front living room into the kitchen yesterday!
TALKING!! He can say "bye bye", "ball" and "dada" like a champ. He has said "mama" in the past, but for some reason he hasn't said it in a while. I never really thought he knew what he was saying with that word anyway, but I have high hopes that he'll say it again soon- for real.
PLAYING!! He LOVES his little ball popper and his basketball hoop. He is already really handy with the basketball and loves to dunk it through the hoop and throw it to his dad. He loves to read his books and we are having lots of fun trying new tasks everyday.
I can't believe that his first birthday is right around the corner. He is getting so big, but we are having so much fun. Enjoy the monthly pictures below... and don't forget to go back and review all of the pics so far. I am so glad that I did this monthly pic. Hopefully I'll remember to do it with the next one someday.

He is making the face below a lot lately. He scrunches up his nose and smiles.

Did I mention that he is getting into everything lately? I have completely rearranged my cabinets so that they are kid-proofed :)

We have a walker.....
Well, it is officially day 3 of Griffin taking steps on his own. On Tuesday, he took his first few steps between us and yesterday was a little better. Below is a video of how the little man has progressed.....
Here are a couple more videos that are sure to entertain! The first is of Griffin amazing me by pushing the red button on his toy. The next is of Blake amazing me with an interesting new ride for G. Enjoy!

Trackrock Campground
This weekend we packed up and headed north for an afternoon with Bets and Papa at Trackrock Campground. They were up there breaking in the new pop-up camper, so we just had to go and check it out. While we were there we put G in the backpack and took a long walk around the camp. It was SO nice to escape the heat for a little while... This was our first trip to the mountains from here and we will definitely be back!

Bustin' a move...
Griffin has been dancing up a storm lately and we have been lucky enough to catch it on video. Here he is "raising the roof" to Blake beat-boxing.

9 month check up

Griffin's 9 month check up was yesterday and I thought that I would share the stats with you.
Weight: 20 lbs 15 oz (49%)
Height: 28.5 inches (48%)
Head circumference 18 inches (56%)
We have a healthy growing boy on our hands despite his extreme dislike for mealtimes :)
I am sorry that I skipped the growth pics this month, vacation just totally threw me off. BUT, 10 months is right around the corner, so I will be sure to make that happen!
I hope everyone is doing well!
